What is your professional or training background?
Bachelor Degree in Visual Arts specialising in Graphic Design
What do you make, create or do?
Owner of a lifestyle homeware brand, Sooper Design. Launched early 2012, showcasing 100% Australian designed products. We have over 400 objects and 30+ designers in our portfolio...and growing everyday. We sell designer objects and highlight stories about our local designers. In our short Sooper lifespan we were listed July 2012 by WeWish.com as one of Australia's Top 10 online design stores.
What other creative areas would you like to explore as a side-project to your current work, or move into full-time?
I'm totally dedicated to building and discovering more and more of our talented designers. There is so much happening out there. Sooper Design would love to capture and include onto our website new design objects in homeware, furniture, art etc and share it with our market as an ongoing adventure. As a side project I would like to create some unique Sooper branded products and add them to our site to build our retail brand.
What skills do you have that help you run your business, or what skills would you like to develop?
My qualified skills are in graphic design and brand strategy. Since running an online business there has been a steep learning curve with my business partner, Jacqui Thomas (also a graphic designer). We're continually learning about online search and social media optimisation.
