Two Vic/NSW upcoming events for your diary...
There are two events coming up that I think are definitely worth going to!
Firstly, AGDA (Australian Graphic Design Association) presents 'Pink is the new blue: Where the hell are all the women?' next Monday 5 March in Sydney.
Join Zoe Pollitt (Co-founder, Eskimo), Linda Jukic (Creative Director, Moon), Jacqueline Morony (Creative Director, Generation Alliance) and Yolanda Vega (Founder and CEO, Australian Womens' Chamber of Commerce and Industry) in a conversation about women, design and business. They'll share their individual experiences of how they reached the top of their respective fields and what inspires them beyond their commercial work.
We have donated a copy of Conversations with Creative Women as a door prize, so to find out where and to buy tickets to this event, visit the AGDA website here. Enquiries - Anita Lyons at nsw@agda.com.au.
Secondly, for the past few weeks, a whole lotta ladies have taken residency at Melbourne's NGV Open Studio for 'Fluoresce'.
It's a world of colour featuring Eddy Carroll, Michelle Francis, Nien-San Lee, Rowena Martinich, Rachel Jessie-Rae O’Connor, Tania Schultz, Rosa Tato, Yandell Walton and Phoebe Miller working in their individual practices, as well as collaborating. Using adhesive murals, craft-based processes, painting and projection, these Melbourne-based artists invite the viewer to engage with the visual potential of fluorescent colour.
Next Thursday 8 March (which also happens to be International Women's Day!), join the ladies for the closing party and final exhibition at the NGV studio space from 6-8pm. See the fruits of their collaborations and time within the open space, engage directly with the artists about their work, and enjoy a night of networking with a fluorescent backdrop.
